Hello, is there anyone alive out there?!
Welcome to my blog!! I don't know where to start, it's all a bit new and scary.
It's very possible that nobody but my future, wrinklier self will ever read this... nevertheless blogging will be fun. This blog will be a photography blog for the most part and I will include not only my own photos (I am NOT an expert, by the way), but also photos I've found and love.
The easiest way to begin I suppose is a "Ten get-to-know-you facts about Jess" sort of thing.
1) I'm from Cork, Ireland. But I'm studying Aerospace Engineering in Glasgow. I live with a Northern Irish girl and an English girl.... so I guess you can only imagine what my accent is going to turn out like by the end of my degree!
2) If you haven't guessed from my first fact, I'm quite the nerd. I will be honest about it, my dream in life is to be an astronaut. One way or another I WILL work for a space agency and rocket off to the stars.
3) I'm your typical Irish girl: Curly red hair, freckles, green eyes. Can't riverdance though, sorry.
4) Although I'm only 19, I have had quite the number of incredible life experiences (blog post to follow) and have travelled A LOT. This is why I've decided to blog- so I can record everything and one day look back on a digital diary.
5) My favourite food is steaming bowl of sweet porridge. I could eat it alllll day long, and would do if flatmates didn't judge me for it.
6) I'm left-handed, vegetarian, atheist, a bit OCD at times, and a strong believer in karma and the power of positivity and gratitude. Smile and the world smiles with you, right?
7) I play Ultimate Frisbee and have competed Nationally and Internationally for the past two years. Most of my closest friends are the people I play with! It was a huge comfort to join my Scottish teams when I moved away for University.
8) My favourite book so far is Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. My God, he is just so clever. I like his styyyyle.
9) I have been to: Ireland (d'uh), America, England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France, Spain, Andorra, Portugal, Poland, and Germany.
By the end of the summer Italy, Monaco and Greece should be on that list too!
10) My favourite quote (and driving force) is by Mark Twain:
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do,
Than the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbour, catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore. Dream. Discover."
One day I hope to have the words "Explore. Dream. Discover." tattooed on me. I already have a tattoo saying "Starry Skies" on my left wrist... but more on that later.
So that's my introduction. I hope that helps you get a feel for who I am and my life.
